The relay panel come with 4 or 6 diodes depending on the configuration you wish, the Diode look like simple fuses and regulate the flow of electricity in only one direction. If you chose to have a remote switch on the dash, When the switch is in the on position, when you engage the factory high beam switch on the turn signal, any circuit that the diodes are on will pass electricity and turn on those lights. If you chose to not use a diode for a circuit that may turn on rear amber lights simply remove that diode like a fuse would be pulled. The diode does not change any of the switch function when the diode bi-pass switch on the dash is not turned on. If you chose to use one of the six new switches to control the diode, you can avoid drilling a hole in your dash. So the best description is to say it turns on all of your forward facing light with simply turning on your high beams. (For off-road use only)
